Have a badminton set stashed in your basement or buried in a closet? It’s time to dust off those nets and take a swing at the birdie. A recent study found that playing adaptive badminton improves both physical and psychological health.

The research involved adaptive badminton training sessions for 26 military personnel who were in the final stages of their rehabilitation after limb amputations due to blast and shrapnel wounds. Positive changes in well-being, activity, and mood were observed among the participants.

The study, “Physical and sports rehabilitation of patients with amputations using adaptive badminton,” was published in the journal Wiadomości Lekarskie Medical Advances.
