Amputee Coalition Accepting Bridge to Ability Scholarship Applications

February 20, 2015
0

The Amputee Coalition is accepting applications for the Kathy Spozio Bridge to Ability Scholarship. The scholarship provides full conference registration as well as lodging expenses and up to $300 in reimbursement for travel expenses to give people with new amputations the opportunity to attend the Amputee Coalition’s 2015 National Conference, July 23-25, in Tucson, Arizona. Conference topics include health and wellness education, technology sessions, special clinics, and social networking. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 15.

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Be a registered friend of the Amputee Coalition
  • Amputation of one or more limbs within three years of application deadline (must provide date and level of amputation)
  • Unable to attend the national conference due to financial constraints (must provide household proof of income and income statement)
  • Have never previously attended an Amputee Coalition National Conference

Named after the late Kathy Spozio, an Amputee Coalition board member and activist, the scholarship program helps recipients to build confidence and hope, “get their lives back,” receive knowledge and information, make connections and friends within the limb-loss community, and establish lifelong relationships.

For scholarship application materials and details, visit the Amputee Coalition website.
