BY SEARCH TERM

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is the leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on job accommodations and employment issues for amputees and people with disabilities. Serving customers across the United States and around the world for 40 years, JAN provides free one-on-one practical guidance and technical assistance on job accommodation solutions, Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related legislation, and self-employment and entrepreneurship options for amputees and people with disabilities.

Jobs Ability
We build relationships through our Jobs Ability portal with businesses interested in employing amputees and other people with disabilities. We work directly with hiring managers and disability advocacy organizations in each community around the country to build bridges toward employment.

The finances behind a prosthetic can be challenging and confusing: Insurance coverage can be inconsistent, with some cost covered, others not and a bunch in between. And if there is no insurance, obtaining a prosthetic may be just about impossible. Our goal is to help all types of amputees afford the prosthesis they need.

Amputee Resource Directory: Category Icons
All entries in the Amputee Community Resource Directory are assigned to a primary category, represented by the corresponding icon. Here are the types of resources for amputees that each icon represents:

Some organizations offer multiple types of resources for amputees and are assigned to multiple categories. For example, an organization that provides outdoor recreation programs for disabled veterans will appear if you sort by “Adaptive Sports Programs” and if you sort by “Military Veterans Programs.”
