SO EVERYBODY CAN MOVE BILL TRACKER 2025
Fall is generally a quiet season for state-level lawmakers, but a few states remain in session. Two of them advanced SEBCM legislation within the last few week: Ohio representatives from both sides of the aisle teamed up to introduce that state’s first SEBCM bill on November 4, and the Massachusetts bill (which has been largely idle since it was filed more than a year ago) finally started moving forward, advancing out of the Joint Finance Committee with unanimous, bipartisan approval.
A handful of other states have seen positive stirrings lately. In Alabama, lead advocate Ruth Guiness met with Rep. Marilyn Lands to build support for that state’s as-yet unfiled SEBCM bill. Two Florida legislators huddled with activists to strategize about getting a bill introduced in the Sunshine State. New Mexico held its second annual Mobility Days celebration, and Maryland unveiled plans for its first such event.
Finally, the national SEBCM leadership issued a call for amputees to participate in a new documentary about the SEBCM movement.
