Kicking for Kids Who Can’t Kick-a-Thon to Be Held October 18

The Kicking for Kids Who Can’t Kick-a-Thon event will be held at Constitution Gardens on the National Mall in Washington, DC, Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event will include Ron Mann, a below-knee amputee and black belt in Muay Thai; Tyler Carter, a U.S. Paralympian; the U.S. Amputee Soccer team; and Damian Buchman, executive director of The Ability Center. There will also be plenty of activities for all ages, including kickball games, soccer shootouts, and football kicking.

This annual event, which is coordinated and held by the Amputee Coalition, benefits the Coalition’s youth camp program. The Amputee Coalition Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp is a five-day traditional summer camp experience for children ages 10-17 who have lost a limb or were born with limb differences. The Coalition covers all expenses, including travel, for the campers.
