Adaptive Sports Event Closes With Numerous Broken Records

The 35th Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals was held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, July 22-27. Traveling from 31 states, 220 athletes ranging from age 6 through 22 and 64 coaches participated in the annual event. The athletes broke numerous records.

 

Competitions were held for archery (23 athletes), field (152 athletes), paratriathlon (14 athletes), powerlifting (10 athletes), shooting (7 athletes), swimming (71 athletes), table tennis (8 athletes) and track (158 athletes). Athletes broke records in archery (2), field (88), swimming (92), track (37), and powerlifting (2).

Additionally, five educational clinics were offered in field (98 athletes), goalball (10 athletes), powerlifting (22 athletes), shooting (15 athletes), and swimming (36 athletes). These clinics offer athletes and coaches the opportunity to advance their skill development.
