The Dralla Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2011 by Allard USA, Rockaway, New Jersey, announced the 2015 grants it awarded to U.S. nonprofit organizations that best align with Dralla’s mission to “provide support for a better life” to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. This year’s grant recipients are Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program, Colorado Adaptive Sports Foundation, Daring Adventures, Heroes on the Water, Kinetic Kids, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and Telluride Adaptive Sports Program.
The events that are being funded range from a day of sailing on Lake Michigan, where participants learn about adaptive sailing and get a chance to steer a boat, to a day of race car training on an autocross course at Pikes Peak International Speedway in Colorado for people with physical challenges, including Wounded Warriors. Kinetic Kids received a grant for its weeklong bike camp for children with special needs; this is the third grant the organization has received. Since forming in 2011, Dralla Foundation has awarded almost $150,000 in grants to organizations across the United States.
Grant Program Administrator Jennifer Buehler said, “The testimonials we receive from our grant recipients are full of stories of people having fun and doing things they never thought possible. We are excited about the impact we have already made….”
