Richard Browne Named USATF Male Para-Athlete of the Year

USA Track & Field (USATF), the governing body for track and field, long-distance running, and race walking in the United States, has named Richard Browne the Male Para-Athlete of the Year. He was presented with the award during the USATF Annual Meeting, held December 2-5 in Anaheim, California.

Browne was recognized for his performance in the 2014 season, in which he was undefeated in indoor and outdoor competitions. In addition to finishing the year ranked number one in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Rankings for the 100 meter and 200 meter in the T44 category, Browne also broke the 200 meter world record on September 5 at the International Association of Athletics Federation’s Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium.
