$100K Pledged to Help Veterans or First Responders with Disabilities Participate in Athletics

The Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge (ROC) 5k has pledged $100,000 to the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) Operation Rebound program using a portion of the proceeds from ROC’s 2014 Epic Tour.

The ROC Race, as it is also called, is the original game-show-inspired obstacle run. Twelve races have been held so far this year, with another four scheduled; about 10,000 participants compete in each race.

CAF’s Operation Rebound is open to any U.S. veteran or first responder with a permanent physical disability who served honorably. The program funds equipment, training, and travel expenses that can help injured American troops harness the healing power of athletics-whether the goal is to win Paralympic gold or just to run around the block.
