Ottobock Announces Most Recent Winners of Its C-Leg Photo Contest

September 3, 2014
0

Berling

The most recent winners of Ottobock’s C-Leg 15-Year Anniversary Photo Contest have been named.

The June winner is David Berling of Avondale, Arizona. Berling was an active-duty Air Force captain when he lost both of his legs above the knee in a private-plane crash in 2007. His winning photo shows him standing in front of his Cessna Cardinal.

Hodges

July winner Mike Hodges is a prosthetic technician from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Hodges lost his left leg above the knee as a result of being electrocuted by power lines. His winning photo was taken while he was playing in a charity golf tournament in California. The photo shows him giving actor Will Ferrell a piggyback ride.

Ottobock established the photo contest as part of its celebration to mark the arrival of the C-Leg in the United States in 1999. The contest asks users of the C-Leg or another prosthetic product to submit photos or videos showing how the product has changed their lives. One winning photo or video will be chosen each month through November 2014 with the typical prize being an iPad, GoPro camera, or Kindle Fire. A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded in December.
