College Scholarships Available to Help Amputees and Their Dependents

If you’re looking for a scholarship, the following resource websites are great places to start:

disabilityscholarships.us

disability.gov/scholarships-specifically-students-disabilities

These sites list scholarships for those with disabilities, those whose parents have disabilities, those who have amputations, and those who have been affected by cancer, diabetes, spina bifida, and other diseases or disorders. What’s great about these opportunities is that the pool of applicants is limited, which increases your odds of receiving an award. Some scholarship opportunities specifically for amputees include the following:

  • The Scott Decker, M.D., Memorial Scholarship and the Christina Skoski, M.D., Scholarship each give $1,000 to a qualified recipient. For details, visit amputee-coalition.org/events-programs/scholarships.
  • National Amputee Golf Association scholarships offer a $500 educational scholarship grant per semester for members of the organization and their dependents who are seeking a bachelor’s degree. Recipients can receive up to $1,000 per year. Recipients seeking a two-year degree can receive up to $500 per year, or $250 per semester. For details, visit nagagolf.org/naga-educational-scholarship-grant.
  • Eastern Amputee Golf Association scholarships. For details, visit eagagolf.org/scholarships.html.
