Earlier this year, The Liner Wand published its first-ever Amputee Community Survey. We were delighted to see it, given the glaring lack of reliable information about the US amputee population. Amplitude found plenty of useful insights about our audience in the survey. Better yet, dozens of clinicians and researchers downloaded the Community Survey to better understand what amputees need, where gaps in service exist, and how device manufacturers and health-care providers can improve their products and services.
We thought it was such a valuable resource that Amplitude decided to partner with The Liner Wand on the 2022 Amputee Community Survey. And that means you’re partners in the project as well. We’re asking you, our readers, to help write the questions that get asked on the 2022 survey. It’s your chance to compare your experience to that of other amputees, and to educate practitioners and product developers about the people they work for.
Our working list already includes basic demographic questions regarding age, sex, amputation type, etc. But we need your help to determine where to focus our inquiries regarding everything else, from lifestyle to health care, technology usage, transportation, relationships, media consumption, and beyond.
To get the ideas flowing, here are the questions The Liner Wand included on last year’s survey. If there’s anything new you think we should ask this year, or if you think we should reframe a prior question in a new way, let us know. Send your ideas to Editor@amplitude-media.com, with the subject line “2022 Survey.” There’s no such thing as a dumb idea, so don’t hold back.
Finally, here’s how you can pre-register to fill out the survey when it goes live in early January. Enter your email address, and we’ll send you a link as soon as the survey is open for business.
