The AWA of the Midlands is dedicated to helping amputees obtain a professionally fitted prosthetic device or other necessities in order to be active and regain the quality of life they deserve. We also aim to maintain a community for amputees in the Midwest, raising awareness and understanding while improving inclusivity for amputees.

Air Warrior Courage Foundation
The Air Warrior Courage Foundation assists disabled and/or needy veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Services and their dependents, widows and children, and provides financial support to Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association members for medical expenses. In addition, the AWCF sponsors programs in scuba and therapeutic horseback riding.

Amputee Blade Runners
Amputee Blade Runners is a nonprofit organization that helps provide free running prosthetics for amputees. Running prosthetics are not covered by insurance and are considered “not medically necessary,” so ABR helps amputees keep an active lifestyle. Our goal is to provide a running prosthesis to one athlete in all 50 states. We currently have athletes in 31 states who serve as ambassadors to other amputees.

Who Says I Can’t Foundation
The Who Says I Can’t Foundation helps amputees of all ages to become involved with adaptive sports. WSICF partners with manufacturers of prosthetic devices and adaptive sports equipment to provide running legs, sit skis, hand cycles and more. WSIC provides selected participants with a grant that will cover the cost of the equipment, as well as related expenses.

One Chair at a Time
One Chair At A Time is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for adolescents and young adults with physical disabilities by providing sports wheelchairs, education, and opportunities for participation in adaptive sports. Tennis chairs, rugby chairs, racing chairs, and handcycles are some examples.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization since 2009, High Fives has helped countless injured athletes and veterans get back to doing what they love. The foundation aims to be a leader in education and recovery from life-altering injuries in outdoor action sports.
