Move United Sets Out to Demistify Disability

April 14, 2021
0

Has it really only been 11 months since Disabled Sports USA and Adaptive Sports USA merged to create Move United? Seems like it’s been longer than that; the new organization has been very busy.

They’ll keep the momentum going and mark their first anniversary next month with the 2021 Move United Education Conference. This virtual event will bring together several thousand people in the adaptive sports industry to help demystify disability and make inclusion a reality. You can register at no cost for the conference, which takes place May 10-14. The signup portal is right here.

Building on the success of last year’s Education Conference, which was attended by nearly 2,000 people representing 900+ organizations and businesses, the 2021 gathering will feature more than 30 webinars and virtual workshops. This year’s theme, “Join the Movement: Redefining the Reality of Adaptive vs. Inclusive Sport,” will address the evolving narrative that is uniting industry professionals in serving athletes with disabilities to ensure no one is left on the sidelines.

Each day of the conference will focus on a separate track:

Monday, May 10: Advancing Adaptive Sport
Tuesday, May 11: Inclusive Sport Fundamentals
Wednesday, May 12: Sport-Specific Considerations
Thursday, May 13: Transforming Education Programming
Friday, May 14: Equity in Sport

The conference brings together people from all backgrounds, ranging from those who are brand-new to adaptive sports to longtime members of the industry. It’s the flagship event in Move United’s year-round education programming, which serves about 3,000 organizations all over the country.
