CLASSIFICATION
Paracycling classifications are defined by the Union Cycliste Internationale
(UCI). Below are classifications that pertain to limb-different athletes
only. For complete classification, see the Tokyo Games’ Paralympic
Classification Guide.
CYCLING
C1: Bilateral through-knee amputation
C2: Unilateral above-knee amputation
C3: Bilateral below knee or unilateral through knee amputation
C4: Unilateral below knee or bilateral below elbow amputation
C5: Unilateral arm amputation (above or below elbow)
HANDCYCLING
H4: Amputees unable to kneel on a handcycle
H5: Amputees who can kneel on a handcycle
