New Diabetes Cases Decline in the U.S.

According to data published December 1 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of adults in the United States with newly diagnosed diabetes has shown a significantly statistical decline. According to the CDC, about 1.4 million adults aged 18-79 were newly diagnosed with diabetes in both 2013 and 2014. This is about a 20 percent decrease from the 1.7 million new cases in 2008. In comparison, however, there were about 500,000 new cases in 1980.

Experts are unsure of the reason for the decline, according to multiple news sources.
