Barr Foundation Dissolved

The Barr Foundation Executive Director Eva Hughes announced that the organization has been dissolved as a 501(c)(3) private foundation. The funds have been rolled into a donor-advised fund, called the Barr Amputee Assistance Fund, which will make grants to other 501(c)(3) organizations that exclusively help individuals with amputations. Due to this change in the status of the Barr Foundation, its website will be taken down by May 30.
Those 501(c)(3) organizations that want to apply for grants from the Barr Amputee Assistance Fund should e-mail kkruger54@gmail.com. Grant requests must be specific in nature. The organizations and their proposals will be reviewed on a continuing basis. Grants will be awarded once or twice per year.

“For those of you who have shared the Barr Foundation website as a link on your site, we have truly appreciated your support,” wrote Hughes in an OANDP-L listserv post. “Please realize that the mission of William G. Barr, helping amputees in need, will continue, albeit by a different avenue. Thank you for your unwavering support through these many years. We would like to give a special thanks to all of our sponsoring prosthetists and support from our Hope Donors.”
