Amputee Coalition Appoints Susan Stout as President & CEO

The Amputee Coalition board of directors has appointed Susan Stout as president & CEO of the organization, effective November 1. Stout joined the Amputee Coalition in 2011 and has held several positions in the organization, including chief communications officer and chief policy and programs officer; in September 2013 she was appointed interim president & CEO as well.

“The Amputee Coalition board and I are confident that Sue is the right person to lead the organization forward,” said Dennis Strickland, board chairman. “We believe that her passion for our mission and dedication to serving the limb-loss community has been instrumental in advancing the organization at a national level, and we are delighted that she has accepted the appointment.”

Since starting with the organization, Stout has provided oversight and leadership to all Amputee Coalition programs, including government relations, communications, research, the Limb Loss Resource Center, peer support, and the youth camp.

“I am honored to take on this role permanently, and excited about the possibilities that lie in our future,” Stout said. “I will continue to bring leadership to and advance the organization with the assistance of our volunteers and the entire Amputee Coalition team as we carry on this exciting journey to achieve our mission to advocate for and empower those affected by limb loss and to promote limb loss prevention.”
