Nearly 600 high school riders from 55 schools took to the trails on September 21 for the second race of the 2014 Colorado High School Cycling League season.

While there was plenty of competition, in typical Colorado High School Cycling League style, support, positivity, and camaraderie was felt throughout the day, wrote Sarai Snyder and Kate Rau of the race.

As the race wound down, one rider was still on the course. Garrison Hayes, Rock Canyon, Sophomore D2, has a prosthetic leg, and as he raced to the line, he was surrounded by cheering teammates and spectators in true Tour de France fan barrage fashion.

Kudos to Garrison for his hard won finish!
