This week, Hanger Clinic, Austin, Texas, announced the launch of its #AmputeeLifeHacks contest via a Facebook Live broadcast from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Florida, joined by Winter the dolphin. A life hack is a strategy to manage one’s time and daily activities in a more efficient way. With the launch of the three-month #AmputeeeLifeHacks contest, Hanger Clinic is encouraging entrants to submit a short video showcasing a tip or trick that helps them conquer everyday tasks. The goal of the contest is to connect the limb loss and limb difference community online, providing an opportunity to learn from one another and receive encouragement.
The grand prize winner and a guest will receive a trip to meet movie star and amputee Winter the dolphin, who resides at the aquarium. A panel of judges will also select a monthly winner throughout the three-month contest, with a prize of a $100 gift card and Hanger Clinic t-shirt. Following the conclusion of the contest period, ten finalists will be announced in late October, and voting will open to the public for a two-week period. The grand prize winner will be announced in mid-November.
