Do you ever feel like you could use a little inspiration, motivation, or just a new perspective on getting the most out of your life?
Great ideas are certainly out there, but you have to know where to find them. Fortunately, the nonprofit organization TED makes it easy. TED’s mission is to share “ideas worth spreading,” and over the years it has invited many people, including several amputees, to give brief talks on a variety of topics.
Amputee speakers have included Amy Purdy, actor, model, former Paralympian, and former Dancing with the Stars participant; Aimee Mullins, actor, model, and former Paralympian; Giles Duley, a photojournalist; and Hugh Herr, PhD, an inventor and professor. Their speeches and many others can be viewed at www.TED.com by searching for their names in the search box.
