Amputee Entrepreneurs Take Center Stage on Take Back Tuesdays

Nobody knows the business of limb loss better than amputees. Throughout the month of November, Amplitude and The Liner Wand will be introducing you to innovative amputee entrepreneurs on Take Back Tuesdays, hosted each week on Instagram Live.

You’ll hear from amputees who’ve created products and services to meet needs that weren’t being met by the marketplace. Our first guest in the series, Joan MacDonald, launched Socket Socks after searching in vain for affordable, stylish accessories to coordinate her prosthesis with the rest of her wardrobe. The product just didn’t exist, so she created it herself.

Joan will share her story with Take Back Tuesdays host Melissa DeChellis on November 2 at 7 pm Eastern on The Liner Wand’s Instagram channel @thelinerwand. If you tune in to the live broadcast, you can interact directly with Melissa and Joan in real time. If you can’t catch the show live, no worries; the recording will be available after the fact on Instagram.

Here’s the rest of our lineup of amputee entrepreneurs for the month of November:

* November 9: John Robinson, CEO of Jobs Ability
* November 16: Damian Kevitt, founder of Streets Are for Everyone (SAFE)
* November 23: Erica Cole, founder of No Limbits Jeans
* November 30: Jerris Madison, founder and publisher of Obvious Magazine
