Want to break into acting? A prestigious Apple TV series called Little America is currently holding auditions for an amputee character in a speaking role. No previous acting experience is required.
The character, named Ciella, is described as being between the ages of 15 and 29. She’s a Central American immigrant who has lost her arm at a young age and subsequently learned how to do everything with one arm. The Telsey Office, which is handling casting for the role, has an open call for arm amputees who are interested in playing the role. You don’t need prior acting experience. However, Spanish language skills are a plus (but not mandatory) for this casting call.
The Telsey Office is an agency that’s dedicated to inclusion and representation of marginalized populations, including people with disabilities.

Little America premiered in January 2020 and got very strong reviews, with a 95 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s described as an anthology series that observes the funny, romantic, heartfelt stories of immigrants in America. CNN says the stories portrayed in Little America “are quirky yet resonant, emotional and relatable, with a sweet (or occasionally slightly bittersweet) payoff.” The Hollywood Reporter adds that the series avoids overt politics and “accepts as a given immigrants’ prerogative to carve out a new home in their adopted country.”
The creative team behind the series includes the husband-and-wife team behind The Big Sick, an Oscar-nominated 2017 movie that weaves an interethnic romance with a narrative of illness and caregiving.
