February 7, 2017
0

The Amputee Coalition is accepting applications for the Scott Decker, MD, Memorial Scholarship and the Christina Skoski, MD, Scholarship for college tuition for the 2017-2018 academic year. The application deadline for both scholarships is April 7.

The $1,000 Scott Decker, MD, Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants with acquired or congenital limb loss who are under 21 years of age, military veterans, or active duty military personnel; have a minimum current grade point average of 3.0; have minimum SAT/ACT scores in the 60th percentile; are high school seniors, high school graduates, or adults returning to school; and are attending or will be attending an accredited college, university, or trade school as a full-time student. Preference for the scholarship will be given to applicants residing in Maryland, though applications will be accepted from non-Maryland residents. The recipient will be selected based on life experience that reflects decency and kindness, demonstrated perseverance and hard work, academic performance, and realistic life/professional goals. The recipient will be notified no later than June 9.

The Christina Skoski, MD, Scholarship awards $1,000 to a full-time undergraduate student who has a congenital limb difference or an amputation and who is, or whose parent or legal guardian is, a registered friend of the Amputee Coalition.
