2024 Outlook: After revision surgery to shorten her legs in 2022, Stickney returned to the pool last year in a new classification (S7) and dominated its freestyle races. She not only won two gold medals at last year’s Worlds, she was nearly three seconds faster than her nearest competitor in the 100 meter freestyle and nearly 30 seconds faster in the 400m. Stickney also set new world records at four distances last year. No American athlete is a surer bet for a gold medal.
