2024 Outlook: Hammer finished 4th at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio, a minute shy of the medal stand. He finished 4th again in Tokyo, missing the podium by an agonizing 6 seconds. But Hammer made the podium in the nine international races he entered, including first place in the 2021 World Championships and another win last July in Paris on the Paralympic course. He’s been training full-time for the last two years. All signs point toward a medal at last.
