National Disability Institute (NDI) has extended the entry deadline for its 4th Annual My American Dream – Voices of Americans with Disabilities Video Contest to September 23. The contest encourages people with disabilities to share their American dreams via video for a chance to win $1,000, a digital tablet, and sessions with a mentor to help make those dreams a reality.
NDI elected to extend the deadline to give more people the opportunity to enter and complete their videos.
“Like all Americans, people with disabilities have amazing American dreams they are working toward and incredible stories to share,” said Michael Morris, executive director of NDI. “This deadline extension will give more people an opportunity to share their insight and show the American dream is something we all share.”
To enter, contestants must create and submit a three-minute video that showcases their personal story and the steps they are taking or plan to take toward achieving their American dreams. Videos can be straightforward, funny, creative, or serious and can be recorded on a cell phone or video camera.
The approach is the contestants’ choice as long as their stories shine through.
The contest winner will be announced by or before December 5.
