Mark Your Calendars

Well, one important March event has dropped off the schedule—the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee canceled the Team USA Media Summit, which we were planning to attend next week in Los Angeles. But the calendar is still packed for the rest of this month, and at least some of these events aren’t susceptible to virus-related disruption. Here’s some of what we’re looking forward to:

■ The World Para Surfing Championships are slated to begin tomorrow and run through March 15 in La Jolla, CA. Event sponsor AmpSurf is streaming the competition live at their website.

■ Version 2.0 of the mobility app iAccess drops on or about March 16. Look for our interview with iAccess founder Brandon Mayfield in the near soon—and check out our mobility feature in the March/April issue.

■ On March 24, Penguin Random House will release the paperback edition of Sonia Purnell’s A Woman of No Importance. It’s a terrific read about Virginia Hall, the LBKA undercover spy who helped organize the Resistance in Nazi-occupied France during World War II. We talked to Ms. Purnell yesterday; you’ll enjoy the conversation, due to appear later this week.

■ At the end of the month it’s back out to San Diego for the Paraclimbing National Championships. Top competitors earn an invite to the IFSC World Paraclimbing Cup in Innsbruck, Austria.

We’ll also be teeing up our Paralympics microsite toward the end of March / beginning of April. Stay tuned for more announcements about that.
