Jesse Keefe

The Backstory:
A congenital amputee who grew up on the slopes of Sun Valley, Idaho, Keefe is one of the youngest members of Team USA. He cut his teeth racing against able-bodied competition and hit the international para skiing circuit in his mid-teens. As a 16-year-old at the 2021 US National Para Skiing Championships, he bagged gold medals in slalom and giant slalom along with a bronze in super G. He will turn 18 shortly after the conclusion of the Paralympics.

Away from the slopes:
Keefe is a heavy-metal fan with a fondness for Dio, Black Sabbath, and ACDC.

“I just love carving with skis and getting into snow. I just really like snow a lot. I feel pretty free because it’s a whole mountain, and I can just go anywhere I want and go in the trees or in main slopes. It’s kind of just an endless path.” (link)
